Mr.Liao Xiaoqi delivered a speech on "China-Russia Border and Regional Cooperation Forum"

Cosponsored by China National People's Congress and State Committee of the Russian Federation and organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the "China-Russia Border and Regional Cooperation Forum" was held in Moscow on 25th, May. Vice Minister of Commerce Liao Xiaoqi participated in the Forum leading an economic and trade delegation composed of over one hundred representatives of the local government and enterprises. Wu Bangguo, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the NPC attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Present at the Forum were over two hundred people from the legislative bodies, central and local governments, big companies, chambers of commerce and associations of China and Russia.

Mr.Liao Xiaoqi delivered a speech entitled "Together We Create the Brilliant Future of China-Russia Economic and Trade Cooperation". In his speech, he put forward four suggestions for expanding the border and regional economic cooperation between the two countries. The first one was to establish a good legislative environment and improve the environment for trade and investment. The second one was to give full play to the existing cooperation mechanisms to strive for mutually beneficial and win-win outcomes. The third suggestion was to accelerate the economic and technical as well as investment cooperation and the last one was to improve the infrastructure of the border cities. Besides Mr. Liao, Vice Governor of Heilongjiang Province Wang Limin, Vice Governor of Jilin Province Li Jinbin, Vice President of Xinjiang Autonomous Region Zhang Zhou, President of China Electronic Information Industry Group Yang Xiaotang, and representatives of relevant Russian local governments, companies and banks also addressed the Forum.

In the afternoon, local government officials and companies of the two countries held discussions respectively with their counterparts.
